Biodiversity Action Team - Work Parties

Our volunteer work parties known as Biodiversity Action Teams are very diverse. You could be tree planting one day and enhancing an urban nature reserve the next, coppicing woodlands for wildlife or improving access for people with boardwalks and bridges. Our volunteers are as variable as our tasks. We welcome all ages from all backgrounds - providing tools and experienced leadership to enable the most novice newcomer to work effectively alongside the most regular ‘old-hand’, taking positive action to improve their environment. We provide onsite training so you learn the skills as you go along. Each project usually has a numbers of jobs to suit different levels of experience and ability and our leaders will provide you with all the information you need to get started. Joining one of our teams is a great way to improve physical and mental health and wellbeing through physical activity in green paces and social interaction. Throughout the year we have up to 4 tasks each week working on a variety of projects in green spaces across Essex. There is no minimum commitment; volunteers join us as often or as little as they choose. Our projects usually run from 10am-4pm and our minibus provides transport from a central location to the site. More information about upcoming projects can be found on our website or by contacting us at the Essex office.
