Community Support for Adults with Acquired Brain Injury (Including Stroke)
The Headway Essex Community Support Service provides both emotional and practical support, crisis support, brain injury education and help with health and social issues faced by individuals with acquired brain injury and their families and carers. The service exists to help and support at any stage from the hospital bedside to many years down the line. The Service includes; A Specialised Support & Advice Helpline available Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm. Access to a local Support Worker, experienced in the effects and impact of brain injury. Brain Injury Education Workshops. Psychotherapy & Counselling (there is a charge for these sessions). Support group meetings (there is a small charge for these meetings). Support with benefit entitlements and supported return to work.
