Headway Centre Rehabilitation Support For Adults With Acquired Brain Injury (Including Stroke)


The Headway Centre is located in Colchester and is open Monday to Friday. The centre provides specialist support for adults with acquired brain injury (including stroke) to encourage independence, by accessing social, physical and educational activities within the centre and in the community. Activities offered include; Communication, Interpersonal and Social Skills group sessions. Exercised based activities to help with core strength, mobility and aerobic ability. Social activities in the community to rebuild confidence and support social re-integration. Specialist IT facilities to help improve hand/eye co-ordination, memory, concentration and information processing. Support to re-learn lost daily living skills. Adult Education and cognitive rehabilitation support. Referral to the Headway Centre is via the Community Support Service 01206 768797 who will conduct the initial assessment.
