Peer support

Description

Through our peer support service we have established a group of trained peer volunteers, all who have lived experience of mental ill health. Their role is to assist other service users to develop their recovery plans and to support them in managing their own mental health and care. We work with people for up to 6 months and enable them to: · Find work or voluntary work · Gain qualifications · Support with accessing other specialist agencies and organisations · Work towards personal goals such as getting out of debt or getting fit Our peer support service has a strong focus on choice, recovery and offering a positive role model. This enables people to build their lives for themselves outside of mental health services, with an emphasis on hope, control and opportunity.
