Peer Support Activity

Description

The HeadsUp programme, funded by the Big Lottery and the European Social Fund, offer 3 free strands of activity to people who are keen to find work after a period of unemployment. Being out of work can make you feel anxious, depressed and generally low, and this programme is particularly suited to helping address these feelings. Activity includes Peer Support, Interactive Workshops and Developing Employability skills and networks. If you’re feeling anxious about starting your journey back to the workplace after a period of unemployment, it can be helpful to work with someone who has been in your shoes to help guide you through the process of returning to work. We offer Peer Support Workers who can help you brush up on your CV writing skills, assist you with looking for jobs and filling out application forms, and help you identify any skills gaps or training needs that you might need to help you on your way. But more than that, they are a listening ear for you to talk through any concerns that you have so that you know you are not alone. The support will last for as long as you need it, even once you have secured a job role – your peer support worker will support you to maintain the changes you have made.
