Psychotherapy following brain injury

Headway Essex uses a modified approach from conventional psychotherapy, specifically for adults with acquired brain injury, to help individuals work through the situations that are causing them emotional distress or cause their wellbeing to be diminished. The psychotherapy sessions are adapted to compensate for cognitive difficulties (e.g. memory, information processing, attention and thinking skills) experienced as a result of the brain injury. We offer therapy sessions; for the person with the brain injury, therapy for couples where brain injury is a major factor in relationship difficulties and psychosexual therapy where there has been a disruption of normal sexual functioning since the brain injury. There is a charge for this service. For more details on this service and for a referral form please visit the Headway Essex website.
